A note on fit — a tailored cut

Cut close to the body, the way a fine shirt is. If you prefer a little more ease, size up one. Between sizes? Take the larger — or email us your measurements and we'll guide you.

A midi length — at 5'4" and under it may sit long; an easy hem takes care of it.

A statement in red: the Zoe Shirtdress in bold red is cut in structured Imperial cotton poplin with couture-level tailoring, hidden pockets, and a full skirt that flatters every figure. The dress that gets compliments — and keeps getting them. Made ethically, in small batches under 100. Designed by Sophie Théallet — CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award-winning French couture designer trained under Azzedine Alaïa.

EVERYDAY LUXURY COTTON SHIRTDRESS

Le Style: Long-sleeve tailored shirtdress with buttons down the front, fitted waist, hidden pockets and full skirt in a crisp Imperial Popeline Cotton.

Ma Muse: this prim classic look has been a chic wardrobe staple for decades. Think Katherine Hepburn strolling along the canals of Venice in her 1955 film Summertime, Brigitte Bardot in Saint Tropez in the early ‘60s, or author Zadie Smith pairing it with her signature turban for a reading of her latest novel.

Mode d'Emploi: While running errands or a lunch meeting, wear with sleeves rolled up and slightly unbuttoned for a casual but chic look paired with flats. For evening, switch to heels and button the dress all the way up.

Note: Tailored cut. Size up one size if in doubt

100% Cotton

Magic City poetry series
Format: Paperback
This book was recommended to me to add to my poetry collection. It is a book that you can pick up and read a few poems and then put down to try to think of the meaning. It is written very well. Just takes a bit of thinking to understand.

Down Home Blues
Format: Paperback
Magic City remains, perhaps, my favorite volume out of Yusef Komunyakaa's distinguished body of work. With his characteristic blues and jazz-inflected lyricism, Komunyakaa revisits the harrowing violence and racism of the deep south as viewed through a piercingly translucent prism of personal memory. The poems making up this volume are in many respects a poetry of witness, and the eyes through which which this gritty psychic landscape is revealed to the reader penetrate various scenes of troubled family life, poverty, violence and racism with a razor-sharp clarity rife with anger, sorrow, and beauty. Ranging in age from childhood to young adulthood, the speakers, or witnesses, in these poems see through eyes that are simultaneously innocent and jaded, naive and urbane, unflinchingly tough and lyrically sensitive. These are unforgettable poems. Like good blues, they cut right down to the bone.
